The National Strategy Information Center, (NSIC) is a nonpartisan, nongovernmental, educational organization. Since its founding in 1962 it has been at the forefront of education about challenges to democratic institutions. NSIC brings together educators, government officials, and civil society leaders to identify, promote, pilot, and implement innovative strategies that enhance security and the quality of life in democratic society.
NSIC offers part-time internships to motivated undergraduate students who are seeking educational and professional experience in international relations and nonprofit management. Interns contribute directly to NSIC’s mission and gain valuable experience.
Interns will help facilitate the efficient day-to-day running of the office, and will conduct internet and library-based research to assist with NSIC’s two major projects:
- Culture of Lawfulness – particularly in the Americas
- Adapting America’s Security Paradigm and Security Capabilities
Qualifications:
- Good computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Spanish language skills very desirable, but not required
- Enthusiastic, self starter who can exercise initiative and judgment within the established procedures in a busy office
- Good communication and coordination skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
Internships are unpaid.
